IBEW LOCAL 305 FORT WAYNE, IN

HIRING HALL RULES, PROCEDURES & RE-SIGN POLICY

                                                                                Effective Date October 1, 2019

All applicants for employment must sign the appropriate “Out-of-Work” list and fill out a registration form. This form must be filled out completely and signed.  If you have been working through Local #305 jurisdictions you will need a copy of your termination slip to sign.

All applicants shall be required to furnish verified or documented proof of work experience approved by the Business Manager or his representative to qualify for employment.

Hours of registration- shall be during normal office hours Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

It is the responsibility of the applicant to notify the Hiring Hall of any address or phone number changes.

Vacations- 7 days advance notice required.

If you are ready to go to work, check on available jobs daily.  Jobs are listed on the Job Information Line and on our website at the end of the business day.  Phone: 260-484-9714   Website: www.ibew305.org

To be considered for a job, applicants from all groups of the referral procedure should either leave their name, phone number, local number, card number and referral information on the job line voicemail before 7:00 a.m. or call the hall before 9:00 a.m. to bid on a call.  The information on the website and job line is all the information the Hall has about the call.

Requests will be assigned relative to the applicant’s position on the out of work list. We must have an available phone number so we can contact you if you are referred for work.  We must speak with you to be assured you have been notified about your referral.  We will notify referral recipients starting the day of referral. Only successful applicants who get the job referral will be called. Any unfilled calls after will be filled by the hiring hall, as they deem necessary.

Short Calls – (14 calendar days or less) When taking a short call out of Local 305 you are expected to complete the short call. However, you may still bid on a permanent call while working a short call.  The completion of any short call will reset your turndowns to zero.

Emergency Call-Outs- When special circumstances arise, the Business Manager will utilize whatever means necessary to fill manpower requests in a fair and equitable manner.

Applicants must continue to meet the requirements for referral under their Group.

Any applicant accepting employment and not showing up for the referral will be removed from the out of work list.

Re-Sign- Applicants must re-sign monthly by email (with your name, the word “resign”, local number and card number in the subject line) to resign@ibew305.org or Fax through their Local Union Business Manager on letterhead.  Re-sign is due between the 10th and the 16th of each month. No EARLY/LATE re-signs will be accepted.

Wage Package – Our scale is $34.69 on the check, $7.25 per hour for Health & Welfare, $1.25 per hour HRA, 10% of gross for Annuity, 17.35% of gross for Pension, 3% NEBF and a 4.5% deduct for Union Dues.  We are reciprocal with all other Local for both Pension and Health & Welfare.

It is the responsibility of the applicant to notify the hall and provide a termination slip upon termination.  The last note is a reminder that by registering on the Out of Work list at Local 305 you agree to have your name removed from that list if you receive employment for more than 14 calendar days in any local union.

     THIS IS YOUR RESPONSIBILTY!
